In 2008, punk cabaret artist Amanda Palmer filmed a music video for “Leeds United.”Before it was released, her label contacted her about certain “unflattering shots” of her stomach in the video.She refused, and they backed down.In a show of solidarity, fans of Amanda started the REBELLYON.Following in their footsteps, we want to show that you don’t have a to have a “perfect” belly to be beautiful.
Women Organizing Women is a student organization devoted to educating the public about issues affecting women. We use peer education to keep the campus population informed about feminist issues and campaign to make beneficial changes to campus policy. We hold biweekly meetings, table in free speech alley, attend protests, and work closely with the Women’s Center to plan programs for the campus community. WOW is a great way to connect with other women in the LSU community, share ideas, and explore active roles in leadership and involvement.
